ITEM BACKGROUND: On February 27, 2013, four proposals were opened for the ADA Compliance Segment #4 project. Pedro Falcon Electrical Contractor's Inc. submitted the lowest proposal, which price is above the funding amount provided by the CDBG. PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On 7/16/08 the BOCC approved a contract with MBI/K2M Architecture Inc. for the ADA Compliance Assessments for County Facilities and Roads. On 12/16/09 the BOCC approved a contract with Bender & Associates Architects, P.A. for the development of an ADA Transition Plan. On 8/17/11 the BOCC approved Resolution #216-2011 authorizing the Housing Authority to initiate budget amendments for CDBG awards, and preserve awarded fimdmg for ADA compliance activities. On 2/15/12 the BOCC discussed and approved to reject the low proposal for ADA Segment #1, and to re -bid. On 5/16/12 the BOCC approved a contract with Mailloux and Sons for the ADA Compliance Segment #2. On 5/22/12 the BOCC approved to reject bids received for ADA Compliance Segment #1 (for the second time), and approval to re -advertise for RFP. On 8/15/12 the BOCC approved a contract with Mailloux & Sons for ADA Compliance Segment # 1 and the BOCC approved a contract with Pedro Falcon Electrical Contractors Inc. for ADA Compliance Segment #3. On 12/12/12 the BOCC approved Resolution #376-2012 authorizing the Housing Authority to submit budget amendments increasing ADA funding and to extend the CDBG award by 9 months.
