WILLIAM A. "BILLY" WAGNER. JR.
Billy Wagner started his career with Monroe County in 1981 with the office of
Civil Defense, which is now the County's office of Emergency Management.
Throughout his career of public service, Billy has made the safety of Monroe
County residents during hurricanes his primary focus. Today, he is recognized
nationwide as a bona-fide expert in evacuation and hurricane preparedness. With his
inestimable ability to acquire and assemble weather and traffic information under the
highly stressful circumstances of storm activity, Billy Wagner has helped assure the
safety of Monroe County's residents, businesses and visitors.
He has received numerous awards for his work with tropical storm systems.
