The Land Authority recently purchased two parcels totaling 18 acres on the bays ide of Lower
Matecumbe Key formerly owned by Placid Properties, Inc. and Matecumbe Properties, Inc. with State
Preservation 2000 funds. These parcels are within the acquisition boundary of the Florida Keys
Ecosystem CARL project and were pre-acquired by the Land Authority for ultimate conveyance to the
State of Florida.
Advisory Committee Action: On September 27, 2001 the Advisory Committee voted 5/0 to approve
this conveyance.
Previous Governing Board Action: On January 11, 2001 the Board approved the purchase of this
property.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE MONROE COUNTY
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN LAND AUTHORITY AUTHORIZING
THE CONVEYANCE OF CARL PROPERTIES ON LOWER
MA TECUMBE KEY TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
INTERNAL IMPROVEMENT TRUST FUND.
WHEREAS, the Monroe County Comprehensive Plan Land Authority (hereinafter "Land
Authority") has acquired title to parcels known as the Placid Properties, Ltd. parcel and the
Matecumbe Properties, Ltd. parcel (hereinafter "subject properties") on Lower Matecumbe Key;
and
WHEREAS, the subject properties are within the State Conservation and Recreation Lands
(CARL) Florida Keys Ecosystem project; and
WHEREAS, the Land Authority pre-acquired the subject properties for ultimate conveyance to
the State of Florida for inclusion in the CARL program and management as conservation and
recreation land; and
WHEREAS, on September 27, 2001 the Land Authority Advisory Committee considered
conveyance of the subject properties to the State of Florida and voted 5/0 to recommend
approval; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MONROE COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN LAND AUTHORITY
that the Chairman of the Land Authority Governing Board is hereby authorized to sign the deed
and closing documents necessary to convey the Lower Matecumbe Key parcels known as the
Placid Properties, Ltd. parcel (RE #00396950-000100 and CARL #42) and the Matecumbe
Properties, Ltd. Parcel (RE #00396950-000400 and CARL #43), to the Board of Trustees of the
Internal Improvement Trust Fund.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Monroe County Comprehensive Plan Land Authority at a
regular meeting on this day of 2001.
