At the September 20, 2001, Board of County Commissioner's meeting the Board granted
approval and authorized execution of an Interlocal Agreement, as amended, between Monroe
County and Islamorada, Village of Islands wherein the County agrees to pay $440,000 to the
Village for the purchase of emergency medical service vehicles and equipment.
Enclosed are two duplicate originals, executed on behalf of Monroe County, for your
handling. Please be sure that the fully executed "Monroe County Clerk's Original" is
returned to our office as soon as possible. Should you have any questions please do not

INTERLOCALAGREEMENT
Village of Islands
THIS INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT is entered by and between Monroe County, (County) a
political subdivision of the State of Florida, whose address is Public Service Building, 5100 College
Road, Key West, FL 33040 and Islamorada, Village of Islands, (Village) a municipal corporation,
whose address is Islamorada, Village of Islands, P.O. Box 568, Islamorada, FL 33036, pursuant to
Sec. 163.01, Fla. Stat.
WHEREAS, the Village has requested $440,000 from the County for the purchase of
emergency medical services vehicles and equipment; and
WHEREAS, the BOCC has determined that the payment of $440,000 to the Vii/age out of the
County infrastructure sales tax fund for emergency medical service vehicles and equipment serves a
proper County public purpose and, hence, the BOCC is willing to pay the Village the requested
amount; now, therefore
IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual promises and covenants set forth below, the parties agree
as follows:
1. The County agrees to pay $440,000 to the Village out of the County's infrastructure
sales tax fund for the purchase of Emergency Medical Services vehicles and equipment, subject to
the following terms and conditions: When the Village has entered into a contract for the purchase of
Clerk of the Circuit Court (Clerk), with a copy of the contract. If the Clerk determines that the
a vehicle or piece of equipment authorized by this agreement, the Village shall furnish the County's
contract is for the purchase of a vehicle or equipment authorized by this interlocal agreement, then
the Clerk shall pay the contract price up to $440,000 upon receipt of an invoice from the equipment
or vehicle vendor in a form satisfactory to the Clerk and documentation from the Village that the
equipment or vehicle was delivered and was satisfactory. If required by the form of the purchase
agreement, the County will transfer title to any vehicle or piece of equipment purchased to the
Village. In no event may the total amount paid by the County pursuant to this agreement exceed
$440,000; and once paid, the Village shall not be entitled to receive from County infrastructure sales
tax funds nor from the Trauma District funds any other payments for capital expenses. Nothing in
this agreement may be construed to create on behalf of the County any privity with, or liability to,
any vehicle or equipment vendor the City may have entered into a contract with.
2. In the event of any litigation arising under this agreement, the prevailing party is
entitled to a market value attorney fee plus costs.
3. This interlocal agreement will take effect on the signature date of the last party to
execute it. An original of this interlocal agreement must be filed with the Clerk of the Circuit Court
