Dear Sheriff Ramsay,
Families and those connected to a missing child are left to deal with the daily agony from the
countless unanswered uestion that surround the disappearance. The pain never goes away
and the void left in their lives cannot be filled. It is important that these families know they are
supported and their missing children are not forgotten. Each year, the Florida Missing Children's
a 's ceremony brings together state officials, law enforcement officers, educators, and citizens
from around Florida to surround the families of missingchildren, offering them support,
remembrance, and hope.
Florida Missing Children's Day also provides an opportunity to recognize exceptional first
responders, citizens, and school employees who work to protect our sat 's children, as well as
brave young heroes who acted courageously in the face of abduction. A child identification an
safety fair is held before the ceremony, with canine tracking bloodhounds from the Jimmy c
Center greeting attendees. The ceremony and the safety fair are an integral component of W
Florida's ongoing efforts to raise awareness and educate the public about missing person
issues.
s we prepare for the 2021 Florida Missing Children's Day on Monday, Sete er 1 t", the
Florida Missing Children's Day Foundation needs your support. The effort to rememberFlorida's
missing children and comfort their families can only happen through the generosity
donors tote Florida Missing Cildren's Day Foundation. The 501(c)( ) organization was
U-
created pursuant to Section 683.231, Florida Statutes, in direct support of Florida Department of
Law norce ent's Missing and EndangeredPersons Information Clearinghouse Advisory
Board and with the primary mission of providingthe basis for the financial support needed to
stage the annual ceremony in Tallahassee.
Because the ceremony and its events support the promotion and education of public awareness
safety, Florida county and municipal law enforcement agencies have the unique opportunity to
assist Florida Missing Children's Day by donatingasset forfeiture funs pursuant to Section
93 .705 , Florida Statutes.
The included information provides sponsorship opportunities to allow you to show your support
of the missing and their families. Please see the attached form for sponsorship opportunities
