AGENDA ITEM WORDNG: Approval to advertise for sealed bids for Wireless
Communications devices capable of cellular telephone, direct connect two way radio,
paging and monthly service for Public Safety and Monroe County Sheriffs Department
for interagency communications.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Public Safety and the Monroe County Sheriffs Department
have special communication needs. Many of the personnel in these departments are
subject to after-nours callout. Having a single portable multi- communications device

would be more efficient as well as cost effective. The associated costs will be funded
from the Inter-Agency fund # 158-10505. The Inter-Agency fund aquires its funding from
a portion of the surcharge associated with traffic citations and not ad-valorem taxes. This
expenditure is expected to exceed the $25,000.01 purchasing guidelines.
