ITEM BACKGROUND: Public Safety and the Monroe County Sheriffs Department have special communication needs. Many of the personnel in these departments are subject to after-nours callout. Having a single portable multi- communications device j would be more efficient as well as cost effective. The associated costs will be funded from the Inter-Agency fund # 158-10505. The Inter-Agency fund aquires its funding from a portion of the surcharge associated with traffic citations and not ad-valorem taxes. This expenditure is expected to exceed the $25,000.01 purchasing guidelines.
