No Department: Emergency Management AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of an amendment of a contract with the Florida Department of Community Affairs to reinstate and modify Contract Number 02-PR-70-07-01-005, dated May 8, 2002, concerning the development of a Terrorism Annex to the County's Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan. ITEM BACKGROUND: Monroe County and the Department of Community Affairs previously entered into contract to develop a Terrorism Annex to the County's Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan. Upon release of the federal funding for this project, DCA requested and received a six month extension of Federal Fiscal Year 2001-20002 Terrorism funding from FEMA. The extension allows time for the County to achieve the objectives outlined in the contract's scope of work. PREVIOUS REVEL ANT BOCC ACTION: The BaCC approved this contract at its March 2002 meeting. "Reggie" Paros To Follow_ Not Required_ 7 /z/ (CeO '- - - DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR APPROVAL: DIVISION DIRECTOR APPROVAL: DISPOSITION: AGENDA ITEM # C / Revised 2/27/01 Contract Number: 02-PR-70-07-38-01-005 CFDA Number: 83.552 Modification #1 to Agreement This Modification is made and entered into by and between the State of Florida, Department of Community Affairs ("the Department"), and the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners ("Recipienf') to reinstate and modify the Department of Community Affairs contract number 02-PR-70-07- 38-01-005, dated May 8, 2002 ("the Agreement"), WHEREAS, the State of Florida, Department of Community Affairs (hereinafter referred to as the "Department"), and the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners (hereinafter referred to as the "Recipient"), have entered into an Agreement dated May 8,2002, to develop a Terrorism Annex; WHEREAS, due to the disconsonant nature of state and federal fiscal years, the federal funding was released for this project on February 26, 2002, The Department immediately requested an extension of the Federal Fiscal Year 2001-2002 Terrorism funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which was subsequently approved for an additional period of six months; and WHEREAS, the Recipient will require an extension of the contract period in order to allow time to achieve the objectives outlined in the Scope of Work; and WHEREAS, this Federal Grant period closes on March 31,2003; and. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises herein contained, the parties agree to reinstate and modify the Agreement to read as follows: (3) PERIOD OF AGREEMENT. This Agreement shall begin upon execution by both parties and shall end November 30, 2002, unless terminated earlier in accordance with the provisions of Paragraph (9) of this Agreement.
