Porter, lowest qualified bidder, for the construction of the Monroe County Sheriff's Hanger and related work at the Marathon Airport, in the amount of$I,476, 722.00 ITEM BACKGROUND: Sealed bids for the Sheriff's Hanger construction project were opened on August 22,2002. There were two bids received; bid tabulation is attached. The low bidder was D.L. Porter. URS recommended D.L. Porter as the lowest qualified bidder for the Sheriff's Hanger. Sheriff's Office confirmed the recommendation of award to D.L. Porter. Funding of the contract is 50% FOOT and 50% Sheriff's Office. PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: The Board approved the Request for a Re-bid of the project on June 19,2002. The Contractor shall maintain the required insurance throughout the entire term of this contract and any extensions specified In any attached schedules. Failure to comply' with this provision may result in the immediate suspension of all work until the required insurance has been reInstated or replaced. Delays in the completion of the work resulting from the failure of the Contractor to maintain the required insurance shall not extend deadlines specified In this contract and any penalties and failure to perform assessments shall be imposed as if the work had not been suspended, except for the Contractor's failure to maintain the required Insurance.
