ITEM BACKGROUND: Creative Choice Homes is under contract to purchase Stock Island Rental Apartments to create/secure 130 affordable units. The sale is contingent on their application to Fla. Housing Finance. They are applying for Tax Credits and a Sail Loan, and need local government support which can be obtained with this resolution. Their dead line to submit their application is April 8, 2003. Monroe County Code S6-27(d)(2) provides for an exemption from building permit fees for housing rehabilitation projects pursuant to the County's participation in federal and state programs for eligible low and very low income participants.
