BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
MAYOR Dixie M. Spehar, District I
Mayor Pro Tern Murray E. Nelson, District 5
George Neugent, District 2
Charles "Sonny" McCoy, District 3
David P. Rice, District 4
Peter Lubert began his career with Monroe County in October 1987. He has served in several
roles during his career, including field paramedic and Operations Manager, and he currently
serves as Support Services Manager for Monroe County Fire Rescue. In his current assignment,
he is responsible for many activities, including:
. restocking of ambulance medical equipment
. procurement of fire station supplies
. security procedures for controlled substances
. repairs and maintenance of ambulances and fire apparatus
. arranging repairs to Fire Rescue facilities
. coordination of the Multi-Casualty Incident Support Unit
One of the most important projects that Mr. Lubert has is maintenance of the Medical Special
Needs Registry. This registry enables Monroe County to provide for the special transportation
needs of medically incapacitated Monroe County residents who are requiring evacuation during
hurricanes or other disasters.
While Pete's official tenure as an employee of Monroe County is fifteen years, he has been
involved in medical and emergency response operations in the community for over 35 years.
Because of that he brings a wealth of experience with him every day he comes to work. He is
consistently one of the top scorers during paramedic recertification testing. His knowledge of
the community and the contacts he has developed make him a valuable asset in logistics
functions during emergencies. His ability to obtain nearly anything in an emergency is well
known in the emergency management community. These assets and his "can do" attitude make
him a valuable contributor to the Monroe County government.
