There are two candidates who have been in attendance at Council whom I would like to recommend to you for consideration for this position. Key West City Bicycle, Pedestrian and ADA Coordinator (305-293-6495). Mr. Malcolm has, in the past five years, founded and chaired the Key West Community Traffic Safety Program, been instrumental in its Pedestrian Action Committee, and served with skill and vigor in his post as ADA coordinator. His knowledge of Titles II(Government) and tII(Public Accommodations) of the ADA is unsurpassed in the Florida Keys. He has taught this knowledge to many in Monroe County, both in and out of government. He lives and works in Key West. '. 2, Second is Carol Smith, Transportation Coordinator, Monroe County Social Services (305-289-6352).Ms, Smith is a former member of the Council who is involved ona daily basis with providing transportation for the disabled in Monroe County. She has been very active at Council meetings for several years and has provided significant input to our deliberations. Due to her efforts, her department will be awarded the Council's Award in the June BaCC meeting in Marathon. She lives on Big Pine Key and works in Marathon. Both of these candidates have expressed a desire to serve and would make excellent additions to the council. I would be happy to discuss this further with you, either'by phone or in person, in order to add your appointment to the BaCC agenda in time for the May 7, 2003 deadline.
