Disabilities Council Vacancy
'f1.
First is Jim Malcolm. Key West City Bicycle, Pedestrian and ADA Coordinator (305-293-6495). Mr. Malcolm
has, in the past five years, founded and chaired the Key West Community Traffic Safety Program, been
instrumental in its Pedestrian Action Committee, and served with skill and vigor in his post as ADA
coordinator. His knowledge of Titles II(Government) and tII(Public Accommodations) of the ADA is
unsurpassed in the Florida Keys. He has taught this knowledge to many in Monroe County, both in and out of
government. He lives and works in Key West. '.
2, Second is Carol Smith, Transportation Coordinator, Monroe County Social Services (305-289-6352).Ms, Smith
is a former member of the Council who is involved ona daily basis with providing transportation for the
disabled in Monroe County. She has been very active at Council meetings for several years and has provided
significant input to our deliberations. Due to her efforts, her department will be awarded the Council's Award in
the June BaCC meeting in Marathon. She lives on Big Pine Key and works in Marathon.
Both of these candidates have expressed a desire to serve and would make excellent
additions to the council.
I would be happy to discuss this further with you, either'by phone or in person, in order to add
your appointment to the BaCC agenda in time for the May 7, 2003 deadline.
Thank you,
Michelle Wisniewski, Chairperson
Florida Keys council For People With Disabilities
