Item M17 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY Meeting Date: 21 May 2003 Bulk Item: Yes ----X- No Division: Growth Management Marine Resources Department: AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to void the contract with Florida Marine Research Institute (FMRI) and authorize instead a Purchase Order for the services ofFMRI in completing a Boater's Guide for the middle and lower Florida Keys. ITEM BACKGROUND: The County developed a Contract between the County and FMRI to create and provide to the County electronic documents for printing a Boater's Guide for the middle and lower Florida Keys. Administratively, it is difficult for FMRI to authorize signature on such a contract (agenda item enclosed) and has not signed it to date. Instead FMRI would like the County to provide them with a purchase order for such services which their agency is able to process with no difficulty. FMRI is a state agency under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The Boater's Guides that FMRI produce are designed to be uniform across the state as to general design and layout. Thus, the Guides provide consistent points of reference for boaters to use throughout the State. The Contract amount was $9, I 00 and will become the corresponding amount for the PO. BIF funds will be utilized for payment.
