Item V5 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Agenda Item Summary Meeting Date June 18, 2003 Division County Attorney AGENDA ITEM WORDING Public hearing of an ordinance revising definition of Aluminum Specialty Contractor to include vinyl and plastic products. ITEM BACKGROUND The Aluminum Special Contractors often also incorporate vinyl and plastic products into their work in a manner which affects the integrity of the underlying structure. Licensed contractors have established appropriate skills and knowledge through the licensing process, and it is in the interest of safety and welfare of the public that people without that skill and knowledge not be allowed to contract to do such work.
