This award recognizes the myriad instances of human kindness above and beyond the job description, provided regularly by Monroe County Transportation employees. This individually scheduled service provides wheelchair users and other disabled individuals with an improved quality of life, and, through its health care functions, an improved length of life. In addition to its mandated tasks, Monroe County Transportation provides wheelchair- lift busses for groups on weekends and holidays, without overtime pay. These groups include Plantation Key Convalescent Center, Marathon Manor, Key West Convalescent Center, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of the Florida Keys and the American Association of Retired People. On behalf of the Disabled citizens of the Florida Keys this plaque is presented with sincere gratitude for your compassion. AWARD OF APPRECIATION Presented by The Florida Keys Council for People with Disabilities We proudly present this award to Larry Kelley and Dave Campbell of the Monroe County Sheriff's Department in recognition and appreciation of their outstanding efforts on behalf of the people with disabilities of Monroe County. These two gentlemen unselfishly donated over 400 man hours installing and refurbishing parking spaces and signs for the disabled. The 400 man hours consisted of 10 full weeks of labor installing, painting, and refurbishing these parking spots and handing out violations. During these 10 weeks, Mr. Kelley and Mr. Campbell distributed 300 violations for parking in a disabled parking spot, refurbished 46 disabled parking spots and installed 28 disabled parking signs. This type of commitment truly shows their dedication and willingness in assisting the disabled citizens of Monroe County. Mr. Kelley and Mr. Campbell strive to make the quality of life much better for the disabled citizens of Monroe County. We stand here today honoring these gentlemen for their contribution of man hours and man power used to assist our community's disabled citizens. This dynamic duo truly sets a perfect example for all citizens to follow.
