She is always pleasant to anyone who approaches, regardless of how busy she might be. The first impression she gives to first time visitors is one of being a friendly and helpful place. To the residents and day guests, her helpful and pleasant demeanor signals her space as a safe and friendly place to be. In addition, her telephone manner is exceptional. As an entity that gets frequent wrong number calls, she quickly tries to direct them to where they need to be, by transferring the call (if within the County) or giving the correct number to dial. Trish's job description spells out many office functions, which are traditionally performed by other Administrative Assistants. What makes her a stand-out in her performance is her demeanor with the residents and day guests. Several of these periodically come and sit by her desk during the day. They are just looking for some company and kindness. They always find it with her. Her "And other duties" comprise things as diverse as taking residents to medical and hospital appointments, going to the grocery store for food, doing activities with the residents and even assisting at mealtimes. Trish never balks when she is asked for help in anything that needs to be done, no matter how far out of her job description it may be. She rarely has an unplanned absence, is never late and is an eager worker for her entire shift each day. She is capable, hard working and always pleasant to the public and those she serves. Her work is also of the highest quality. She represents the ideal Monroe County employee, and therefore, I am pleased to announce her as the Monroe County employee of the month for June, 2003.
