She graduated from Key West High School, was married many years before having two wonderful children and now has beautiful twin granddaughters. She stayed home with her young children and then worked part-time for local attorneys. In July of 1983 she started a full-time position with the Social Services Department, working for the Director of Social Services, Louis laTorre. At this time she is still employed as Administrative Assistant to Mr. laTorre. Jeanie answers directly to the Social Services Director but performs many duties, answering phones, scheduling appointments, interacting with all programs under the Social Services Department, as well as all other Departments within the County. She also works with social workers in the Welfare Program, keeping records, processing bills, reimbursements and medicaid billings. In the past twenty years she worked at the Public Service Building, moved to Whitehead Street, back to the Public Service Building and is now at the Historic Gato Building. She has seen and has been through many changes throughout the years and looks forward to retiring soon. We honor her today for being a loyal County employee for the past 20 years.
