ITEM BACKGROUND: The Commission approved a grant from the South Florida Water Management District to fund engineering design and permitting work for a stormwater / xeriscape project associated with the bike path on Big Coppitt. As a reasonably small RFQ, two staff members participated in the review of the project, Jose Papa (the Scenic Highways Coordinator) and George Garrett. The recommendation ofE Science is unanimous among proposal reviewers. The second and third recommendations are the firms of Ayres & Associates and CRJ & Associates respectively. With the Board's approval, staff will negotiate an acceptable price and develop a contract for the Board's review and approval at the next Board meeting. If negotiations with the first selected firm are not fruitful, then staff will initiate negotiations with the second and third firms successively. A memo outlining the recommendation is attached for your review.
