RESOLUTION NO. -1998
A RESOLUTION BY THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPROVING THE PLANNING
COMMISSION'S AWARD TO GILDAMRIC CORPORATION
OF 35 HOUSING ALLOCATIONS FROM FUTURE ROGO
QUARTERS FOR THE PROPOSED TRADEWINDS
MULTIFAMILY AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT IN KEY
LARGO.

WHEREAS, Section 9.5-126(c)(1) of the Monroe County Land
Development Regulations provides for the allocation of additional units from
future quarterly allocation periods to fully grant an application for a multifamily
residential project; and,
WHEREAS, Section 9.5-126(c)(1) of the Monroe County Land
Development Regulations requires that the Board of County Commissioners
must approve the award by the Planning Commission of housing allocations from
future ROGO quarters; and,
WHEREAS, during regular meetings held on May 8 and May 20, 1998,
the Monroe County Planning Commission conducted public hearings to review,
discuss, and make formal motions regarding dwelling unit allocations and the
request of MRT of the Florida Keys, Inc., to award Gildamric Corporation, as
ROGO applicant and current owner of the property, ROGO dwelling unit
allocations from future ROGO quarters; and,
WHEREAS, the Monroe County Planning Commission based on its
review of the request by MRT of the Florida Keys, Inc., and the sworn testimony
of Planning Director and comments of Garth Coller, Esquire, Planning
Commission counsel, awarded Gildamric Corporation, subject to the approval of
the Board of County Commissioners, thirty (35) Residential Dwelling Allocation
Rankings by applying 17 affordable housing allocations (one per quarter from
ROGO Year Six through ROGO Year Ten, Quarter Four) and 18 market rate
housing allocations (two per quarter from ROGO Year Six through ROGO Year
Eight, Quarter Four); and,

WHEREAS, the. Monroe County Planning Commission requestsj,e~ae

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, during a regular
meeting held on June 10, 1998, conducted a review of the Planning
Commission's action;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that it approves the
awarding by the Monroe County Planning Commission of thirty-five (35)
Residential Dwelling Allocation Rankings to Gildamric Corporation by applying
future ROGO quarterly affordable and market rate housing allocations from the
Upper Keys Subarea in a manner so prescribed in Planning Commission
Resolution P41-98.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, at a regular meeting held on the 10th day of June, 1998.
