DISPOSITION:
20 YEARS OF SERVICE
AWARD TO
NORMA KULA
Norma began her career with Monroe County in 1984. She has received
many promotions throughout the years, ranging from Library Assistant Trainee to
her current position of Director of Libraries.
Prior to her position as Director of Libraries, she served on the Employee
Relations Committee and the Employee Grievance Council. Since becoming the
Director of Libraries, Norma's assignments have included the complete revision of
the library policy, responsibility for long-range planning, grant writing, including a
$44,000.00 Gates Library Foundation Grant and the Annual State Aid to Libraries
Grant, which comprises approximately 10% of the total library budget.
Norma has established a solid foundation of mutual respect with the Library
Advisory Board. Through her participation over the past several years, they have
come to rely on her input and expertise in their endeavors. She also works well with
the Friends of the Library groups across the system as well. She has maintained a
good working relationship with her supervisors and peers, as well as her co-
workers. She is known and respected in County Government and also in her
community.
Norma is a true professional librarian. We are happy to be here today to
present this Years of Service Award to her and hope to have many more years of
her great service to the citizens of Monroe County.
