Bernard Machen comes to the University of Florida extremely qualified to become the university's 11 th president, bringing with him extensive experience in leadership and academic endeavors honed through a career of exceptional service and advancement within the community of higher education, ~ I NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Mayor of Monroe County, I do hereby proclaim the days of September 9-10, 2004 as "The Grand Inaugural of the Eleventh President of the University of Florida" in the County of Momoe and invite all our citizens to join me in congratulating the university and its new president for this significant milestone of the university's glorious history. ~ WITNESS my hand and seal of the County of Monroe, Florida, this 15th day of September, 2004. t/U~/~ Y E.
