ITEM BACKGROUND: A grant application was submitted to FAA to resurface the cargo apron,
rehabilitate terminal canopy and install taxiway lighting and signs at the Florida Keys Marathon
Airport. FAA granted funds under Project No. 3-12-0044-020-2004 for these projects, however the
FAA Grant Agreement listed the project for the cargo apron portion as the general aviation apron. The
attached amendment revises the project title to Cargo Apron.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On August 18, 2004, Board granted acceptance and
authorized execution of Grant Agreement No. 3-12-044-020-2004 between Monroe County and the
Federal Aviation Administration to fund rehabilitation of General Aviation apron, terminal roof, and
Taxiway lighting at the Marathon Airport.

AMENDMENT NO.1 TO GRANT AGREEMENT FOR PROJECT NO. 3-12-0044-020-
2004
WHEREAS. the Federal Aviation Administration (hereinafter referred to as the "FAA")
has determined it to be in the interest of the United States that the Grant Agreement
between the FAA, acting for, and on behalf of the United States, and the Monroe
County Board of County Commissioners (hereinafter referred to as the "Sponsor"),
accepted by said Sponsor on the __ day of be amended as
hereinafter provided:
NOW THEREFORE, WITNESSETH:
That in consideration of the benefits to accrue to the parties hereto, the FAA on behalf
of the United States, on the one part, and the Sponsor on the other part, do hereby
mutually agree as follows:
Revise "General Aviation Apron" to "Cargo Apron"
It is understood and agreed that all of the other terms and conditions of the Grant
Agreement remain in full force and effect and are not changed except as hereinabove
provided.
The United States shall not bE~ obligated under any provision hereof unless this
Amendment has been accepted by the Sponsor on o'r before November 30, 2004 or
such subsequent date as may be prescribed in writing by the FAA.
