ITEM BACKGROUND: Beach Road and First Street in the Ocean Park Village in Tavernier are located in a busy residential neighborhood and are near Harry Harris Park. Once No Parking signs were installed on the roads adjacent to the Park,park users began to park vehicles with boat trailers attached on the shoulders of these roads and within the bicycle lane on the roads. (APPROXIMATELY 420 FT.), OCEAN PARK VILLAGE, TAVERNIER, FLORIDA. 0 WHEREAS, pursuant to Monroe County Code Sec. 25-27, the Board of County z Commissioners may restrict or prohibit the parking, standing or stopping of vehicles along 0. county roads; and WHEREAS, Beach Road and First Street are county roads located in Tavernier; and WHEREAS, the roads lead to Harry Harris Park, which is a county park with a boat ramp in a residential neighborhood; and a� WHEREAS,park users frequently park vehicles with boat trailers on the shoulder of the roads and on the bicycle lane along the roads, which is causing traffic flow and safety issues; and a� WHEREAS, the designated no parking area would be posted with "No Parking" signs as U) required by Sec. 25-27, Monroe County Code; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT: 1. The portion of the Beach Road from East Beach Road to First Street and the portion of c, First Street from Beach Road to Park Ave., Ocean Park Village Subdivision, Tavernier Florida, shall be designated as a no parking, standing or stopping area. 2. The designated area shall be posted with the appropriate "No Parking" signage as required by Monroe County Code Sec. 25-27.
