The purpose of this amendment is to request a time extension from the current end date of June 29,2014 to March 29,2015. The original CDBG Grant Agreement listed 32 sewer connections as the required number of accomplishments/number of beneficiary households. To date, Monroe County has already completed 47 sewer connections which exceed the minimum number required. We currently have an additional 13 units under construction and are reviewing 63 additional applications. Because the actual cost of construction was much lower than anticipated, we have funds remaining in our budget to complete additional connections. We are expecting additional applications, as residents continue to receive official connection notices. Therefore,we respectfully request approval of this extension to allow us to continue to provide this much needed assistance for low and moderate income households in Monroe County. On behalf of Monroe County, I would like to extend my thanks for the assistance that has been provided by the Department of Economic Opportunity in the implementation of this Community Development Block Grant Program.
