AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of a Modification to an Interlocal Travel Agreement for
Reimbursement of Travel Costs for Governmental Liaison for Jim Malloch who serves on the South
Florida Workforce Board (SFWB) and on the South Florida Employment and Training Consortium
(SFETC) representing Monroe County Locally Elected Officials (LEO's) in all Workforce Investment
Act (WIA) activities in Miami for Region 23.
ITEM BACKGROUND: There is an existing Interlocal Agreement between Monroe County
Government and the South Florida Workforce to fund the lodging and meals for Jim Malloch who
serves on the SFWB and the SFETC in Miami, Monroe COlmty provides the travel allowance. This
Interlocal Agreement is in the amount of$9,000 for annual expenses for attending Region 23
Workforce activities in Miami. Due to the additional meetings this year in Miami over the estimated
amount, the the Interlocal Travel Agreement must be increased and modified by an amount of $3,000
for a new total amount of$12,000 for PY 2004/2005. This increase will fund and cover the remaining
meetings for May and June 2005 for South Florida Workforce activities in Miami.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: Approval of the existing Interlocal Agreement for PY
2004/2005 in the amount of$9,000.

MODIFICATION TO INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT

REIMBURSEMENT OF TRAVEL COST FOR GOVERNMENTAL LIAISON
THIS MODIFICATION made and entered into by and between the South Workforce Board, Inc,
hereinafter referred to as "SFWB, Inc" and the Monroe County, Board of County
Commissioners, hereinafter referred to as "Monroe County".
1. It is expressly agreed by the parties that this modification is supplemental to the original
Interlocal Agreement, effective 07/01104, which is by this reference, incorporated and made
a part hereof and all terms, conditions and provisions thereof unless specifically modified
herein are to apply to this modification as though they were expressly rewritten, incorporated
and include herein.
2. It is agreed that the original Interlocal Agreement, shall be modified, altered and changed in
the following respects only:
Article 3 - Compensation is hereby modified to rescind and replace Section 3.1 due to
an increase in the current Agreement amount of $9,000 by an additional $3,000 as
shown below:
SFWB, mc. agrees to reimburse Momoe County in the marmer specified in Section 3.2,
the total amount not to exceed Twelve. Thousand Dollars ($12,000.00). This
reimbursement shall be for travel and lodging costs incurred in order to attend the
SFWB, Inc and SFETC Board and Committee meetings only. It is acknowledged and
agreed by Monroe County that this amount is the maximum payable and constitutes a
limitation upon SFWB, Inc's obligation to compensate Monroe County for the costs
related to this Agreement.
