Danny Powers began his career with Monroe County in February of 1990 as

supervisor for Monroe County EMS, a position which he held for over two
years.
During his tenure with the department in the capacity ofEMT/Paramedic,
Mr. Powers has continued his education and attended many EMS-related
classes such as: Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Air Crew
Certification, Advanced Airway Management of Critical Patients,
Interpretation of 12 Lead EKG's, and Basic Trauma Life Support. He
attended the first Monroe County Fire Academy and received
State certification as a firefighter in July of 1999. Since that time Mr. Powers
has also continued his fire education by completing such classes as Fire
Service Apparatus Operator and Fire Service Hydraulics.
Mr. Powers' personnel file is overflowing with letters of commendation
from supervisors, patients, hospital personnel, hospital administrators, and
even the general public, all praising him for the conscientious dedication he
displays to his patients and his community. Mr. Powers has been and
continues to be a valuable asset to Monroe County Fire Rescue and his
community. We are proud to honor him with this length of service award.
