ITEM BACKGROUND: A production company is requesting to film a mini-series entitled The Triangle in South Florida. The Producers and Director of this mini-series would like to shoot a key segment of the script on the 7 Mile Bridge at the end of August. The production company would like to be able to control both northbound and southbound traffic on the 7 Mile Bridge for this shot. The request is for intermittent traffic control for periods of ten to fifteen minutes at a time, three to five times per hour. PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: All road closure events are brought before the Board of County Commissioners for their consideration. Tnere may be a camera car used to film a portion of this sequence. .. r wlll be contacting Pigeon Key to see if they may allow us to use the Old 7 Mire 8r1dge for addmonaf camera angles. tn addItiOn, I will probably ask them to use their parking Iot(s) to acoommodate our Production Vehicle parking for the shoot. . I have !eft a message for Captain ThOmpson with the Monroe County Sheriff's Department to discuss off-duty requirements and ooncems that he may have regarding this proposed shoot. ., I also spoke briefly with Jim Sumausld at FOOT-District. VI. He did not see a problem with issuing us a permit for this shoot as long as we obtain the proper approva! from Monroe County and the Monroe County Sheriffs Department.
