Since her hire in August 2004, she has applied her high energy and organization skills toward leading a committee of interested citizens, government agencies and community groups to organize the Green Living and Energy Expo that was held in March, 2005 at Coral Shores High School. Without her leadership this well received public event would not have occurred! Over 2000 people attended from as far away as Denver, Colorado, including many people from southeast Florida. Cristina used her networking and advertising skills to attract over 20 sponsors and to advertise the event throughout Monroe and Miami-Dade Counties, as well as in national magazines. We attracted vendors and lecturers from throughout Florida, including Colorado, Oregon, and Washington, DC. The Green Living and Energy Expo effort lead by Ms. Lindley has created good community relations for the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners and the University of Florida Extension Service by being the primary sponsors of this progressive event that promoted better use of our existing nonrenewable energy resources as well as the need and potential benefits of increasing our direct use of renewable solar energy. On behalf of the Board of County Commissioners and your colleagues, we are pleased to have you as part of our county TEAM!
