Award Citation
August 17, 2005
The Florida Keys Council For People With Disabilities is pleased to present its Award for
Outstanding Public Service to disabled persons in Monroe County to ADA expert
Michael Brennan and Attorney Rhonda A. Anderson. This award recognizes their
important pro-bono contributions of expertise and energy in bringing about compliance to
disabilities law in the Florida Keys.
Together they have contributed hundreds of hours of efforts including inspections,
evaluations, reports, and expert advice in assisting some four dozen Monroe County
businesses and hotels into ADA compliance without court action. They have also given
free instruction to both business and local government in this County in avoidance of
ADA litigation.
Their steadfast support for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act has
enriched the lives and enhanced the safety of 17,536 disabled residents of the Florida
Keys and our estimated annual 200,000 disabled visitors.
On behalf of the disabled citizens of Monroe County these plaques are presented with
sincere gratitude for your achievements.
