ITEM BACKGROUND: This new vehicle will replace a 1995 F450 Type I Ambulance that was
flooded and had major electrical damage from Hurricane Wilma. This new vehicle will be utilized at
Fire Rescue Station 13 (Big Pine). The low bid of$159,326.00 is derived by taking the base price of
$108,370.00, adding necessary options of$52,163.34 and a contract fee of$792.66, and then
subtracting the Florida Sheriff's Association Discount of$2,000.00.

equipment needs and preferences are going to vary from agency to agency - any additional options
required or changes to the base unit desired by the purchaser shall be made through the manu-
facturer listed.

to "Piggy-Back" the Florida Fire Chiefs Association, Florida Sheriffs
Association, and Florida Association Of Counties Bid # (05-06-0823) for a
Sterling Specification # 02 Type 1 4X2 Medium Duty ambulance.
The cost of an Emergency Medical Vehicle that meets the requirements
of Monroe County is $ 159,326.00 per vehicle. The chassis in this proposal is
a 2007 Sterling M-6500 Acterra Two Door. Sterling is a division of
Freightliner Corporation. A detailed description that describes the
emergency medical unit is included.
