TASK ORDER
FOR PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES
BETWEEN MONROE COUNTY AND BENDER &ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS, P.A.
FOR HISTORIC COURTHOUSE DOORS REPLACEMENT
In accordance with the Agreement for Professional Architectural and Engineering Services, made
and entered into on December 19,2018,between MONROE COUNTY, ("County")and BENDER
& ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS, P.A., ("Consultant"), where professional services are allowed
if construction costs do not exceed $4,000,000.00, or for study activity if the fee for professional
services for each individual study under the contract does not exceed$500,000.00 ("Agreement"),
as provided in Subsection 287.055(2)(g),Florida Statutes, as amended by Section 2, Chapter 2020-
127, Laws of Florida, pursuant to which Attachment A, Subsection 1.01 of the Agreement is
hereby modified, the parties enter into this Task Order.
All terms and conditions of the Agreement apply to this Task Order, unless this Task Order
amends, adds, or modifies a provision or an Article of the Agreement of which will be specifically
referenced in this Task Order and the amendment, addition, or modification shall be precisely
described. These additions apply only to the project referenced in this Task Order.
This Task Order is effective on the IOth day of November, 2021.
WHEREAS, the Historic Monroe County Courthouse is an iconic structure and a significant
contributing resource in the Key West Historic District; and
WHEREAS, a Cost Estimate for the replacement of the doors was completed by Bender &
Associates Architects, P.A. in April 2020 and the County is moving forward with the repair and
replacement of the historic exterior doors.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises and covenants set forth below, the
parties agree as follows:
1. In accordance with Article H, SCOPE OF BASIC SERVICES of the Agreement, the
Consultant shall perform services as described below:
Design and provide all required documents, bidding, and construction administration for the
replacement of the existing doors. This scope of work will include the required drawings for
both Historic Architectural Review Commission (HARC) approval and Construction. Built in
1891, the Monroe County Courthouse is a significant historic resource in Key West, and as
such, all work is required to be in compliance with the Secretary of Interior's Standards for
Rehabilitation and any other requirements of the State Division of Historical Resources.
Services provided shall include:

• Field verify the existing conditions
• Procure all HARC approvals
• Produce construction documents
• Assist in the bidding process
• Provide construction administration services
2. In accordance with Article VII, paragraph 7.1.1 of the Agreement, the County shall pay the
Consultant a lump sum fee of Ten Thousand Seven Hundred Seventeen and 00/100 Dollars
($10,717.00)paid on a percent complete basis for the following phases:
a. Existing Conditions and Design Drawings - $3,750.00 upon completion of site visit,
document review, and approval by the Director of Facilities Maintenance.
b. Construction Documents - $3,750.00 upon document review and approval by the
Director of Facilities Maintenance.
c. Bidding Phase - $ 535.00 upon completion.
d. Construction Phase Contract Administration - $2,682.00 upon completion.
All other Terms and Conditions of the Agreement remain unchanged and in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, each parry caused this Task Order to be executed by its duly authorized
representative.
