MEMORANDUM

® County Administrator
Director, Project Manager
FROM: Project Manager
Release of Owner Contingency for: Plantation Key Courthouse & Detention
Center
Action Requested: Approval for release of owner controlled project contingency funds in the
amount of ,818.00 as outlined below.
Basis for Recommended Action:
1. The requested release does not increase the total cost of the project as approved by the
BC .
. The scope for which the release is requested (i / is not) within the intended project scope.
. The release is / is not based upon an error or omission by the designer or the general
contractor (explain this within the background paragraph).
Background_
Project Contingency Adjustment 03 (PCA-03) allowed for the relocation of the Overhead Utilities on
the Plantation Key Government Site. Monroe County IT [department has requested an alteration tot e
routing of the relocated Overhead Utilities as they enter the Ellis Building. The benefits of the
additional costs of including this scope of work are:
- Greater expansion capacity of the existing Courthouse's IT
- A hardening of the IT infrastructure on the existing courthouse
This Adjustment is being released with the conditions that the final cost will be incurred and billed as
Labor Time and Materials not to exceed the proposed amount of $5,818.00. Any funds not spent on
this endeavor will be reclaimed to the Owner Controlled Project Contingency Allowance.

Bruce,
This design requires attaching to the existing conduits. If that is not amiable as Matthew tell me it might not be,the
main objective is to get conduit from point A to point B(riser area to penetrations). If you have a better concept to do
this scope, Gabe with IT and the County PM staff is more than happy to consider whatever you might recommend. We
just need to get this done so it can go away.
Requirements are any 90s use the LB pull elbow.

Subject: RE: Revised IT Conduit Work
Absolutely,
We would like all turns to be made with PVC LB Pull Elbows.
We would like the completed conduit runs to house MaxCell insert liners.
The 2 conduits rise vertically on the face wall. We would like the conduit trimmed to the height of the existing
roof-mounted conduit race.
Facing the wall, with the conduit running vertically, we would like PVC LB Pull Elbows to turn the conduit 90
degrees towards the roof.
Both Conduits should enter a pull box. Then exit the opposite side of the pull box, towards the conduit race.
The conduits should then turn 90 degrees towards the south wall, so that the conduit can be fastened to and
follow the existing roof-mounted race.
The conduit should continue down the race to the corner, and turn to the west, so that the conduit can be
fastened to and follow the existing roof-mounted race.
The conduit should continue dawn the race to the middle of the south wall, then turn to the south so that the
conduit can leave the race in the direction of the roofs edge.
We would like PVC LB Pull Elbows to turn the conduit 90 degrees down the wall, to the area where many other
cables penetrate the wall.
We would like PVC LB Pull Elbows to turn the conduit 90 degrees into and through the wall.
That should complete about 12 LB's, a pull box, and an estimated 100ft. of Conduit.
Drawing attached for illustration to show current and desired installation.
Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Sincerely,
Gabriel Price

Cary,
I have been asked to see if we can get a written narrative for the IT conduit revision.Appears a clear scope is not making
it back to Stryker for pricing. Is this something that can be provided?
