ITEM BACKGROUND: On April 21, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners ("BOCC") adopted two resolutions (Resolution Nos. 168-2021 and 169-2021) reserving 22 and 14 (respectively) moderate-income category affordable housing ROGO allocations for Gorman & Company ("Gorman"), for two sites on Cudjoe Key. Gorman was submitting an application to the State of Florida Housing Finance Corporation ("FHFC") Request for Applications 42021-208 — for SAIL Financing for the Construction of Workforce Housing. The two project sites were not awarded SAIL funding in that round of applications. Gorman has since confirmed that they did not proceed with the contracts to purchase the properties in question. Therefore, the professional staff recommends that the BOCC rescind the above-referenced reservation(s) of a total of 36 moderate income affordable housing ROGO allocations (via Resolution Nos. 168-2021 and 169-2021) at this time so that they may be put back into the unincorporated Monroe County's affordable housing ROGO allocation pool and awarded to other proj ects. PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On April 21, 2021, the BOCC adopted Resolution No. 168-2021, reserving 22 moderate-income category affordable housing ROGO allocations for Gorman & Company for property in Cudjoe Ocean Shores, on Cudjoe Key. On April 21, 2021, the BOCC adopted Resolution No. 169-2021 reserving 14 moderate-income category affordable housing ROGO allocations for Gorman & Company for property in Sacarma Bay Subdivision on Cudjoe Key.
