AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of a second amendment to the Task Order with Cardno
for PFAS evaluations at the Joe London Fire Training Academy.
ITEM BACKGROUND: This Task Order Amendment authorizes Cardno, Inc. to continue a site
assessment for perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) at the Monroe
County Joe London Fire Training Academy. This work is being performed by Cardno, one of the
County's on-call contractors. After reviewing the earlier site assessments, FDEP required additional
sampling wells and analyses. Cardno's proposal to do the additional work is $155,960. Since
Cardno has performed the prior work, it is appropriate to continue with them to ensure consistency
of the data.
Staff seeks Board approval of this additional Amendment to the Task Order with the proposal
