ITEM BACKGROUND: Lower Keys Roads Maintenance and Facilities Maintenance Departments have been relocated from Airport property and are currently operating out of temporary modular office buildings on Rockland Key. The Fleet garage is in temporary leased space and their offices are in process of also being moved into a temporary modular building adjacent to the other two departments. The Monroe County fuel island at the Key West Airport has been closed and was not relocated. The County owns property on Rockland Key programmed as the permanent location for these departments. Staff is requesting approval to advertise an RFQ for the first phase of the development which includes a long-range master conceptual plan and the design of a Monroe County Fleet Garage and Fuel Island. Future design services will include offices for Lower Keys Roads Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance, Fleet, Parks & Rec, and possible other departments.
