AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Ratification and approval of Amendment No. 3 to the State of
Florida Department of Transportation Public TransportationGrant Agreement (PTGA) G1237 as
executed by the Director of Airports adding $400,000.00 in funding for the Florida Keys Marathon
International Airport Retention Pond Modification and Hangar Development project for Drainage
Well Cleaning. Requires $100,000.00 match from Marathon Airport Fund 403.
ITEM BACKGROUND:The grant scope of work includes the necessary permitting, design and
construction new drainage improvements. Under PTGA Amendment #2, the scope of work was
amended to include rehab. of the 11hangars that were damaged by Hurricane Irma. Amendment #3
is adding funding for drainage well cleaning.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:The BOCC approved original Grant Contract G1237
on November 20, 2018, Amendment #1 on April 15, 2020 and Amendment #2on June 16, 2021. On
September 15, 2021, the BOCC adopted Resolution No. 288-2021 authorizing the Director of
Airports to execute FAA and FDOT Airport grants as received to meet deadlines for returning grants
to the granting agency and expedite use of grant funds, with grants to be ratified by the BOCC at the
next available regularly scheduled commission meeting.
CONTRACT/AGREEMENT CHANGES:
Adds $400,000.00 in funding for drainage well cleaning.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approval.
