Info: RaiEtte Avael 1720 Johnson Street Key west, Florida 33040 (305) 293-0559 (305) 797-0542 Email: raiette50@aol.com With a nearly 34-year career in serving children and families, RaiEtte Avae1's extensive experience includes such positions Program Supervisor and Administrator for the Department of Children and Families in Family Safety, including Child Protective Investigations, Protective Supervision, Foster Care, Adoptions, and Child Care and Foster Homes licensing as well as the Operations and Management Consultant for Substance Abuse and Mental Health programs in Monroe County. In her current position as the Circuit Manager/Coordinator and Chief Probation Officer for the Department of Juvenile Justice, RaiEtte currently manages all Juvenile Probation and Community Intervention in the 1 6'hJudicial Circuit comprised of Monroe County. She has contributed to wide-ranging efforts required in resource development and with contracted providers, law enforcement agencies, school district, judiciary and various community agencies and Boards. In February 2011, she assumed responsibilities as the lead south regional chief for probation operations in Circuits 11, 15, 16, 17, 19 and 20. RaiEtte will retire from the Department of Juvenile Justice effective February 16, 2012. RaiEtte has a degree in Sociology from Carson Newman College and is a Certified Public Manager from Florida State University. She is certified through the Juvenile Justice Advanced Management Institute, University of Nevada at Reno. RaiEtte is also a Certified Instructor of Process Management and Quality Improvement Techniques as well as a Certified Instructor of Motivational Techniques. She is a 2002 graduate of Leadership Monroe and a 2003 graduate of the City of Key west Ambassador Program. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors, for the Southernmost Nameless Assistance League, RaiEtte also serves on the South Florida Behavior Health Network Board and Executive Committee, Board of Directors for the Monroe Co. Coalition for a Safe and Drug Free Community, Florida Keys Certified Public Managers Association, Circuit 16 Juvenile Justice Board, Board of Directors for Monroe County Community Alliance, Monroe County Mental Health and Substance Abuse Planning Committee, and the Monroe County Substance Abuse Policy Advisory Board. She attributes her involvement with these boards and committees to her commitment to public service, her passion for helping those in need, and a desire to improve the overall quality of life for those in her community. She has lived in Key west for 15 years. She was recently awarded the 2011 Recognition of Excellence in Child welfare Services from the Department of Children and Families and also the 2011 recognition as a Community Builder -- Dunamis Award. Previous awards include the 2008 Recognition of Excellence from the Monroe County School District and the 2004 woman of Integrity Award for work with Children and Families. I have decided to remain with Health Management and have recently accepted a full-time offer to manage our St. Cloud Regional Medical Center in St. Cloud, Florida. It is with a heavy heart that I must resign from the HSB Board. As much as I would like to remain on the Board, I believe the community deserves a representative that lives in the Keys dull time. I have done my best to ensure that all organizations were treated fairly and the needs of our community were met. I truly lave the Keys and the people that call the Keys their home. I will not be cutting my ties to the Keys and hope to return some day and eventually retire there. Please give trey best to my fellow board members and encourage them to keep up the good work.
