AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Reappointment of Tom Genovese to the Climate Change
Advisory Committee term to expire March 16, 2013.
ITEM BACKGROUND: BOCC Resolution 002-2011 created the Climate Change Advisory
Committee. This new committee will continue the work of the Green
Initiative Task Force. Mr. Genovese was first appointed on July 20,
2011 to fulfill the term of Joel Reed.

Other information:
Until his retirement in June 2011, Tom Genovese had been the Florida Keys Service Center Director
for the South Florida Water Management District since October 2008. He started his career with the
District in 2001 as Director of the Orlando Service Center. Prior to joining the District he was a Senior
Project Manager with Walt Disney Imagineering where he led environmental planning and permitting
efforts for the Walt Disney World Resort and Town of Celebration. His 3 8-year career also includes
service as Vice President of Planning Services for a major Florida planning and engineering consulting
firm, Director of Planning for one of South Florida's largest homebuilders, and Assistant Director of
the South Florida Regional Planning Council. Tom holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management from
the University of Michigan, a Master's in Regional Planning from the University of Michigan School
of Natural Resources, and a MBA from Nova -Southeastern University.
