Dear Corm aunity Leaders, Businesses and Organizations,
e the Change of the Florida Keys is writing you to request financial support for
upcoming Challenge Days scheduled for Key West, Marathon and Coral Shores High
Schools in January.
We need to raise $4,000.00 in community to provide this powerful training to our
students in Monroe County.
e the Change of the Florida Keys lTQ is a -grassroots organization whose mission is
to foster acceptance and respect among youth and to empower them to become "Agents
of Change. we do this through a variety of programs, projects, activities and unique
training opportunities.
You may be familiar with our signature program, Challenge Day, an award winning one
day workshop which addresses the issues of violence, racism, teasing, stereotypes and
substance drug abuse within the context of teen life. This powerful workshop creates
incredible connections among students, teachers, parents, administrators, counselors and
community members. It also students to unite, honor each other and transform peer
pressure into peer supportH Challenge Day has been featured on the oprah Winfrey
Show, Teen Files Documentary and ITV.
In addition to financial support, we are also looking for caring responsible adults to
volunteer for the day.
Challenge Days are scheduled throughout the Keys and are as follows:
Monday, January, 16 Marathon at the Marathon Garden Club 10 AM- 3:3 o PM
Tuesday, January 17thCoral Shores High School 7:45 AM — 2:25 PM
Wednesday, January WhKey west High School 7: AM — 2:25 FM
Volunteers will be asked to come early and stay after the students are dismissed.
