Honorable Richard Ramsay
Sheriff
Monroe County Sheriffs Office
5525 College Road
Key West, FL 33040-4307
Dear Sheriff Ramsay: c
N
I want to invite you to join us at Florida Missing Children's Day in supporting the families and N
those connected to missing children all across Florida. If you have already responded to ourLO
previous letter, please disregard this reminder, and know that we appreciate your support.
FMCD's ceremony brings together state officials, law enforcement officers, educators, and
citizens from around Florida to surround the families of missing children, offering them support,
remembrance, and hope.
FMCD also provides an opportunity to recognize exceptional first responders, citizens, and W
school employees who work to protect our state's children, as well as brave young heroes who Z
acted courageously in the face of abduction. The ceremony and child safety events are an N
integral component of Florida's ongoing efforts to raise awareness and educate the public about
LO
missing person issues. U)
The FMCD ceremony on Monday, September 121h, can only happen through the generosity
of donors to the Florida Missing Children's Day Foundation. The 501(c)(3) organization was
created pursuant to Section 683.231, Florida Statutes, in direct support of Florida Department of
Law Enforcement's Missing and Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse Advisory
Board and with the primary mission of providing the basis for the financial support needed to
stage the annual ceremony in Tallahassee.
c
Because the ceremony and its events support the promotion and education of public safety
awareness, Florida county and municipal law enforcement agencies have the unique
opportunity to assist FMCD by donating asset forfeiture funds pursuant to Section 932.7055,
Florida Statutes.
Please see the attached form for sponsorship opportunities and consider becoming a part of this
very special annual event. Any funds received after this year's FMCD (September 12, 2022)will
be used for the 2023 event.
Sincerely,
Kenneth S. Tucker
Foundation President
