located at 27985 Tarpon Terrace on Little Torch Key.
ITEM BACKGROUND:
This property is vacant residential property located at 27985 Tarpon Ter. in Little Torch Key. The
BOCC approved litigation for noncompliance in code case CE18030037 on September 16, 2020.
Monroe County filed suit against the property owners on January 6, 2021. Following the
defendants' failure to respond, the court issued a Final Judgment of Foreclosure on January 25,
2022, in the amount of$103,235.08.
On March 14, 2022, Monroe County purchased the property at auction for $100.00. The Certificate
of Title granting Monroe County ownership was recorded March 30, 2022.
The Monroe County Tax Collector notified the County that$1,712.71 for 2020 and $1,650.40 for
2021 ($1,627.45 if paid by 6/30/22) are due and owing to redeem the tax certificates purchased to
pay off those outstanding taxes.
