SUBJECT: Release of Contingency Funds
Attached is proposed Release of Contingency Funds #39 for the Plantation Key Courthouse & Detention
Center project. This does not affect the contract price but releases contingency funds already included
in the Guaranteed Maximum Price for work that was either not foreseen or for which a price could not
be determined at the time of contract execution.
The amount requested is $1,468.00. The attached Release of Owner Contingency Request provides the
details. This is being provided to ensure the BOCC is aware of this change. Please contact me with any
questions. If there are none with the normal 24-hour window, I will approve the request.

The work small be carried out in accordance with the following supplemental instructions issued in accordance with the Contract
Documents without change in the Contract Sum or Contract Time.Proceeding with the Work in accordance with these instructions
indicates your acknowledgement that there will be no change in the Contract Sum or Contract Time
Description:
This ASI is in reference to the owner requesto to have the fire sprinkler valve,currently in the ceiling of
corridor D120B and as well in the Secure Parking 169, be relocated to a lower height(bottom at 6'-8" min.)to
allow manipulation of the valvel without the aide of a ladder. Per the email received from TLC Engineering on
Friday 2/25/22.The fire sprinkler contractor is directed to make the below change.
"It Js acceptable to lower the existing valve to an agreeable height. This lowering of the valve will cause some
water to be trapped in the system but it is acceptable since it is a small amount compared to the overall
volume. The valve will need to be installed at a proper height and will need to be coordinated with the
architect. A height of 6'-8"is acceptable as it will allow for clearance in the corridor and will also make
accessing the valve easier. The valve will need to be properly attached to the wall with the tamper switch and
a label. This should be a "secure"corridor and therefore may not need to be enclosed in a valve box but this
will need to be determined.
Since the fire protection system design is still part of the "delegate"engineer(sprinkler contractorshop
drawings)it should be adjusted in the shop drawing and later TLC will accept the drawings and become the
Engineer of Record far the Record Drawings. " JORGE REYES, Principal.
