A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY TO AUTHORIZE THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR
TO SUBMIT, EXECUTE AND ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION FOR
RESILIENT FLORIDA PLANNING GRANTS; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection has a grant program pursuant to Section
380.093, Florida Statutes known as the "Resilient Florida" program; and
WHEREAS, the Resilient Florida grant program provides planning funds to local governments to
undertake planning projects addressing flood risk without any match requirement; and
WHEREAS, the Monroe County Board of County Commissioner seeks to apply for the following Resilient
Florida planning grants in 2022:
1. A grant to assist the municipalities in developing a Roads Vulnerability Assessment Planning
process similar to that undertaken by the County that utilizes consistent data, technical assumptions and that
identifies capital roads projects for budgeting purposes; and
2. A Neighborhood Adaptation Plan to build from all County vulnerability work and identify key
adaptation projects in a specific area of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners for Monroe County wishes to authorize the County
Administrator to submit, execute and enter into an agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental
Protection for implementation of a Resilient Florida Planning Grant;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The Monroe County Board of County Commissioners hereby authorizes the County
Administrator to submit, execute and enter into an agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental
Protection for implementation of Resilient Florida Planning Grants, including all necessary ancillary
documents.
Section 2: The effective date of this Resolution is June 15, 2022.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, at
a meeting of said Board held on the 151h day of June, 2022.
