National Women's Health Week
WHEREAS, National Women's Health Week was initiated in the dawn of the new
millennium by a group of public and private organizations dedicated to raising
awareness of women's health issues;
WHEREAS, from that day forward National Women's Health Week has occurred
in the spring with an annual celebration held the week following Mother's Day;
WHEREAS, National Women's Health Week is a celebration of women taking
responsibility for their own health through greater knowledge and understanding;
WHEREAS, National Women's Health Week celebrates the efforts of national and
community organizations working with partners and volunteers to improve awareness
of key women's health issues;
WHEREAS, Womankind has chosen Key West, Florida to officially launch our
local efforts.
Now, therefore, I, David Rice, Mayor, of Monroe County, Florida, with the
authority vested in me do hereby proclaim the week following Mother's Day — Sunday,
May 13 through Saturday, May 19, 2012 as
NATIONAL WOMEN'S HEALTH WEEK
I hereby urge all citizens to participate in the scheduled activities planned by the local
non-profit agency of WomanKind of Key West, Florida.

Hi Kim,
I would recommend that we put that on the April 181h agenda at the Harvey Govt Center in Key West. The May meeting
is May 16`h, already mid-week of your desired observance week,and the meeting is up in Key Largo. Better timing, and
more convenient for you to be at the meeting.
