BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY Meeting Date: 04/18/12 Division: TECHNICAL SERVICES Bulk Item: Yes X No Department: TECHNICAL SERVICES Staff Contact Person/Phone #: Bob Ward, 453-8792 AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to enter into an AT&T ILEC Intrastate Pricing Schedule for analog private line service as shown in Case Number FL11-4516-01. ITEM BACKGROUND: AT&T recently increased rates for analog private lines. The purpose of this contract is to add these lines to our master agreement to receive better rates. Many of these lines have been disconnected as we have moved to more IP based phone services but approximately 10 of these remain. There are certain lines that must remain in place, such as emergency communications, etc. Furthermore, as we continue to disconnect lines we are able to terminate them without incurring a penalty. We have attached a spreadsheet to the background of this item that shows which lines are still being used. END OF ARRANGEMENT AGREEMENT OPTION 1 Page 7 of 7 Technical Services April 18, 2012 Item Background Monroe County contracts with AT&T for various analog private line circuits throughout the County. These lines are used for elevator alarms, which require a hard line back to AT&T's central switching offices, and emergency communications. We have reviewed these lines and disconnected as many as we are allowed to but some of these lines must remain in place. This item is for a pricing schedule from AT&T that locks in our current pricing for the next 24 months. We expect most disconnects will occur as we continue to upgrade and modernize our phone system. However, there will always be a number of lines that we are required to keep operating. Also attached to this item is copy of our inventory of these lines. Those crossed out have been disconnected. The remaining lines have the following status: W437342 Radio Circuit from Layton to EOC $1,089.80/mo Keep W520156 Clerk — Key West to Plantation Requested Disconnect W520293 Clerk — Key West to Marathon Requested Disconnect W531860 Radio Circuit to Gato Disconnected W533022 MCSO Cable Pair Aviation Blvd Marathon $ 100.36 Keep (need to verify) W536704 Marathon Annex to EOC Disconnected W537189 Courthouse Complex in Key West Disconnected W537921 KW Airport Tower to Flight Service $ 87.26 Keep W648143 Airport Tower to Fire (Crash Phone) $ 423.20 Keep W943120 MCSO Tavernier to Key Largo $ 100.36 Keep Total $1,901.34/mo Staff Recommendation Technical Services recommends that the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners approve this AT&T ILEC Intrastate Pricing Schedule FL11-4516-01. r i C O' O CA) W -(D QO Gam? +J I (j W W NJ W w i W W fV Wi Wi N j Wi ' OI co : c W N ISO IW 'do CD N O Oi w ' 3Irn 1 0 O O rn O m + ` Q (jt :O qt N CJt 0) 0 0) OI Im -.. 1 0 U rn O b rn' O O 3 rni O j O c 0 !p 2 O 3ID O O O p p 0 1 O m Q CD O of p $Im 0 v < I (D v' ? w' a) v' III Q G O G 0 m o i I o' o =ii7 o 13'I 6 o '0 :03 o' a 13 do 3 o, i ' w oo v_o W ao 3 IdW col y Q Q 3 cl CL Q. 1= CL O w p i rt 7 ( jfU S 0 31 O '71 i 0 I i T O 3 0 I I ?
