AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to award surplus units to the highest bidders as set forth
in the attached Budget & Finance Purchasing Department Tabulation Sheet, authorization to award
the surplus items to the next highest bidder(s) if necessary until items are disposed of.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Surplus units and equipment were approved to be removed from
inventory at the October 20, 2021 BOCC meeting—Agenda Item U-5 and April 20, 2022—Agenda
Item N-2. Notice of Request for Competitive Solicitations was advertised in local newspapers in the
month of June of 2022 - KW Citizen on 6/18/22, Keys Weekly on 6/16/22 and News Barometer on
6/17/22. The bid tabulation spreadsheet noting the bids for each surplus item is attached and sets
forth the highest bidder for each surplus units to be awarded. If the highest bidder fails to complete
the purchase transaction after reasonable notification of the award and time limits in which to
respond, then authorization to award to the next highest bidder(s)until final disposition of the
surplus units is complete in accordance with Monroe County Purchasing Department guidelines.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: Board granted approval to dispose of surplus
items and units at the October 20th, 2021 BOCC and April 20th, 2022 meetings.
