AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Discussion and direction regarding the proposed capital projects
applications to be submitted under the "Resilient Florida" program for 2022.
ITEM BACKGROUND: This item is to review the grant applications proposed for up to fifteen
road adaptation projects, two breakwater repairs, the Long Key shoreline resilience project and an
updated vulnerability assessment planning application revision, for a total of eighteen new capital
projects and one revised planning project to be submitted by September 1, 2022 under year 2 of the
Resilient Florida program. Note that 50% match is being proposed for three of the road projects, the
breakwater repairs and the Long Key shoreline resilience project. The remaining 12 road projects are
recommended for submittal with $0 match. The road projects proposed for match will be presented
at the meeting, as project grant applications are still under development at the time of preparation of
this item. The vulnerability assessment revision does not require match.
