AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Monroe County Sheriffs Office request for Expenditure for
Federal Equitable Sharing Funds for FY2023 in the amount of$45,000.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Approval of a request by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office for the use
of Asset Forfeiture Funds for the purchase of 75 sets of stinger spike systems. Issuing a set to each
officer will allow for timely deployment.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:
At the September 16, 2020, the BOCC approved a budget amendment to accommodate the new
directive issued by the Department of Justice and the Department of Treasury to transition the
Sheriffs equitable sharing accounts to the county finance offices.
