Land Authority AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of a resolution authorizing the conveyance of a portion of Beach Drive (Parcel ID4 00110820-000000) on Big Pine Key to Monroe County. ITEM BACKGROUND: Beach Drive connects US 1 to Warner Street on the bay side of Big Pine Key near mile marker 31. The subject property is a 7,392 square foot portion of Beach Drive that the Land Authority acquired while purchasing a separate parcel for conservation. Since Beach Drive is a paved road used by the public and maintained by Monroe County, the proposed resolution authorizes conveyance of the subject property to Monroe County. The estimated closing costs for this transaction are listed in the agenda documentation. ADVISORY COMMITTEE ACTION: On October 5, 2022 the Committee voted 4/0 to recommend approval of the proposed resolution. PREVIOUS RELEVANT GOVERNING BOARD ACTION: The Board approved the purchase of the subject property on July 20, 2022. A RESOLUTION OF THE MONROE COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN LAND AUTHORITY AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF A PORTION OF U BEACH DRIVE (PARCEL ID# 00110820-000000) ON BIG PINE KEY TO MONROE COUNTY. 0 WHEREAS, the Monroe County Comprehensive Plan Land Authority (hereinafter "Land Authority") purchased a parcel of land (Parcel ID# 00110590-000000) on Big Pine Key for conservation; and WHEREAS, incidental to said purchase, the Land Authority also acquired a portion of Beach Drive (Parcel ID# 00110820-000000) on Big Pine Key more particularly described by metes and bounds in Exhibit A (hereinafter "Subject Property"); and WHEREAS, Beach Drive is a paved road used by the public and maintained by Monroe County; and WHEREAS, the Land Authority desires to convey the Subject Property to Monroe County; and WHEREAS, the Land Authority Advisory Committee considered this resolution on October 5, 2022 and voted 4/0 to recommend approval; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MONROE COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN LAND AUTHORITY THAT: A Section 1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein. Section 2. The Land Authority is hereby authorized to convey the Subject Property to Monroe County. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
