A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPROVING THE
RENAMING OF A STREET IN SANDS SUBDIVISION, BIG PINE KEY FROM THIRD STREET TO
FATHER TONY WAY
WHEREAS, Father Thomas "Tony" Mullane, of St, Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Big Pine Key,
Monroe County, Florida, provided leadership in the organization of a group of local pastors in the
Paradise Interfaith Network, an ecumenical organization founded and located on Big Pine Key; and
WHEREAS, Father Tony kept the focus of Paradise Interfaith Network on peopl~vi~ in:lcam!ns

WHEREAS, Father Tony also provided leadership in Monroe County residents~~din~eli~to

WH EREAS, 289 people have petitioned the Monroe County Board of County?Comni:;'n~ to
rename Third Street. Sands Subdivision, Big Pine Key, Monroe County, Florida to "Father Tony Way" for
the purpose of recognizing Father Tony's commitment to helping those in need in areas affected by
Hurricane Georges; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA
that Third Street. Sands Subdivision, Big Pine Key, Monroe County, Florida shall hereafter be named
Father Tony Way.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, at a
regular meeting of said Board held on the 10th day of March, 1999,
