A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY CREATING THE LOCAL CITIZENS TASK FORCE ON WASTEWATER

the wastewater planning process to be accomplished by a county wide citizen;- cor~mittg to st~.dy
current wastewater issues. act as liaison between the pubic and the Board of County Commissioners,
its findings and recommendations. now. therefore.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA.
as follows:
1. A Local Citizens Task Force on Wastewater is hereby created. consisting of twenty (20)
members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. Each member of the Board of County
Commissioners shall nominate four (4) members for appointment. Members shall reside in
unincorporated Monroe County.
2. The Task Force shall perform the following tasks:
a) Such duties as are specified in the Wastewater Master Plan scope of work for
the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAe).
b) Prioritize program alternatives. consider the effect of different service areas,
and assess the cost and benefits of different wastewater management service areas, and assess the
cost and benefits of different wastewater management technologies.
c) Such other tasks as may be assigned by the Board of County Commissioners
pursuant to recommendation of the local citizens task force.
3. The Director of Growth Management Division or his designee shall serve as an ex
officio member of the Local Citizens Task Force and shall provide such staff support as the
Committee shall require.
4. The Local Citizens Task Force members shall serve for a term of two years, or until the
Board of County Commissioners approval of the report of the County's Wastewater Master Plan
Consultant, whichever shall first occur.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida. at a
regular meeting of said Board held on the 19th day of August, 1997.
